Pawz Smart Water Bowl

Sole Mechanical engineer on design and development of smart, spill resistant portable pet water bowl. Owned mechanical design, DFM, DFA, FEA, and tolerance analysis while working closely with XFN partners to ensure all requirements were met. Took product through DFM with CM and built 2 functional prototypes and 1 cosmetic model for client to obtain further funding for development and manufacturing. Dog worn RFID tag alerted the water bowl when dog became within 6 feet of pump to begin circulating water. Fluid level and filter replacement alerts were present via visual and audible notifications. Planned app would track filter state, fluid level and usage. Upper bowl was designed to prevent water from splashing out of the bowl, making it safe for travel. Operated on wall power and battery; housed 2 removable 18650 batteries that actively recharged when on wall power. Simple disassembly using annular snaps for cleaning and all parts in contact with fluid path were dishwasher safe with exception to the main bowl due to pump electronics. Baffle was redesigned for moldability by splitting part into 3, adding snaps and adjusting hole pattern to allow holes to be pulled from a singular direction.
